RAIL BOOM
The SGB Rail Boom is a highly versatile articulating and extending powered platform which has been enhanced with full road-rail capability.
Developed in association with SGB sister company, Harsco Track Technologies, the boom gives access both above and to the side of the track with a working height of up to 12.1 metres and an outreach of up to 5.1 metres. The unit is controlled from both ground level or from the platform and can be driven whiles the boom is extended.
The Rail Boom will carry a payload of 227kg which includes the two person crew. The maximum slew angle of the boom with a boom outreach of 4m is +/-37degrees form the track centre line, with up to a 15cm (6") track cant.
SGB 's Link-Up registration number is 19079 - Hire - Road/Rail Equipment without Operator. Link-Up approvals are essential for supplying goods and services to Rail contractors for incorporation or use in the maintenance and construction of the Railtrack infrastructure, now owned and operated by Network Rail.
