Description Gateway College, Leicester
Challenge Curved structures and large spans over vehicle access routes to a college building

Gateway College is a thriving further education college providing educational opportunities for the people of Leicester. In September 2009 the College will re-locate to a new £33 million building on a Greenfield site at Hamilton, providing outstanding new facilities for learning, social and community activities. This major project required access to all external walls and much of the central atrium. Using mainly CUPLOK® scaffolding, the access package included extra-wide, heavy-duty loading platforms, staircases, curved structures and large spans over vehicle access routes – all incorporated within the continuous scaffold runs. SGB (Formerly Harsco Infrastructure) edge protection system EXTRAGUARD™ was also used to ensure safe access in a number of areas, including the atrium bridge structures.
